The General Assembly adopted resolution 65/162 of 20 December 2010, by which it requested UNEP to convene a plenary meeting providing for the full and effective participation of all Member States, in particular representatives from developing countries, to determine modalities and institutional arrangements for the platform at the earliest opportunity.

وطلبت الجمعية إلى برنامج البيئة، في قرارها 65/162، أن يعقد اجتماعاً عاماً لتحديد الطرائق والترتيبات المؤسسية لإنشاء منبر حكومي دولي للعلوم والسياسات في مجال التنوع البيولوجي وخدمات النظم الإيكولوجية.

27. At the second session of the plenary meeting to determine the modalities and institutional arrangements for an intergovernmental science-policy platform on biodiversity and ecosystem services, it was decided that, at its first session, the Plenary would decide on the link between the Platform and the United Nations system.
27 - في الدورة الثانية للاجتماع العام لتحديد الطرائق والترتيبات المؤسسية لإنشاء منبرٍ حكومي دولي للعلوم والسياسات في مجال التنوع البيولوجي وخدمات النظم الإيكولوجية، تقرر أن يبت الاجتماع العام، في دورته الأولى، بشأن الصلة بين المنبر ومنظومة الأمم المتحدة.

14. Responding to the functions agreed upon at the first and second sessions of the plenary meeting to determine the modalities and institutional arrangements for the Platform, and based on experience with establishing and operating other secretariat structures, the following proposal is made for the structure of a central secretariat of the Platform.
14 - استجابة للمهام الوظيفية المتفق عليها في الدورتين الأولى والثانية للاجتماع العام لتحديد الطرائق والترتيبات المؤسسية لإنشاء المنبر، واستناداً للخبرة المستفادة من إنشاء وتشغيل هياكل أمانات أخرى، يقدم هذا الاقتراح لإنشاء هيكل أمانة مركزية للمنبر.
