The coordination segment focused in particular on two areas, i.e., a coordinated and integrated United Nations response to promote rural development in developing countries, for poverty eradication and sustainable development, as well as a review and appraisal of the system-wide implementation of the Council's agreed conclusions on mainstreaming the gender perspective into all policies and programmes in the United Nations system.
