The Panel finds that, although in situ bioremediation of residual contamination in the shoreline of the Khiran Inlets appears to be feasible, the available information indicates that the potential benefits of such bioremediation, in terms of reduction of contamination and improvement in ecological function, are uncertain. In the view of the Panel, wet tilling of these areas would be adequate to clean and restore the environment.
184- ويرى الفريق أنه وإن كان الإصلاح البيولوجي في الموقع لبقايا التلوث في شاطئ منافذ الخور يبدو عملياً فإن المعلومات المتاحة تشير إلى أن الفوائد المحتملة لمثل هذا الإصلاح البيولوجي، من حيث تخفيض التلوث وتحسين الوظيفة الإيكولوجية، غير محتملة، ويرى الفريق أن الحرث الرطب لهذه المناطق سيكون كافياً لتنظيف البيئة وإصلاحها.

In addition, paragraph 35 of Governing Council decision 7 states that " direct environmental damage and the depletion of natural resources " include losses or expenses resulting from " reasonable measures already taken to clean and restore the environment or future measures which can be documented as reasonably necessary to clean and restore the environment " .
