(c) Organizations active in the geo-information field, such as the International Cartographic Association, the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, and other members of the Joint Board of Geospatial Information Societies, promote geo-information to decision makers and raise their awareness of its benefits;
(ج) أن تروج المنظمات العاملة في مجال المعلومات الجغرافية، كالرابطة الدولية لرسم الخرائط، والجمعية الدولية للمسح التصويري والاستشعار عن بعد، وسائر الأعضاء في المجلس المشترك لجمعيات المعلومات الجغرافية، لهذه المعلومات لدى صناع القرارات، وأن تعمل على رفع درجة الوعي بمنافعها.

(g) Recognized the contributions of the Joint Board of Geospatial Information Societies and other international contributors to advancing the initiatives being carried out by the Committee.

At the same meeting, statements were made by the representatives of Belgium, Italy, Australia, the United Kingdom, Finland, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Jamaica, the United States and Nigeria, and by the observers for EuroGeographics and the Joint Board of the Geospatial Information Societies.

27. The Joint Board of Geospatial Information Societies is a coalition of leading international geospatial societies set up to speak on behalf of the geospatial profession at the international level, especially to the United Nations and other global stakeholders.

4. At its meeting, on 26 October 2011, the Committee supported the proposal that the elected Bureau (2 Co-Chairs and 1 Rapporteur) may consult with the respective regional committee chairs and the President of the Joint Board of Geospatial Information Societies as deemed appropriate.

At the same meeting, statements were made by the representatives of Finland, Singapore, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Belgium, Thailand, Canada, Azerbaijan and the Economic Commission for Africa, and by the observers from the Joint Board of Geospatial Information Societies, the ISO/TC211, the International Steering Committee for Global Mapping and the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association.

At the same meeting, statements were made by the representatives of Australia, the United States of America, Italy, Japan, Norway, Canada, Brazil, Bahrain, Spain, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Pakistan, China, Jamaica, Zimbabwe, El Salvador and the observers of the European Commission and the Joint Board of Geospatial Information Societies.

(f) Expressed its appreciation to the Joint Board of Geospatial Information Societies and other international geospatial organizations for their contributions to advancing the global geospatial information management initiatives, and endorsed the International Map Year 2015-2016, as proposed by the International Cartographic Association, as a valuable means of promoting the importance of maps and geospatial information globally.
(و) وأعربت عن تقديرها للمجلس المشترك لجمعيات المعلومات الجغرافية المكانية وغيره من المنظمات الدولية الجغرافية المكانية لمساهماتها في تشجيع مبادرات إدارة المعلومات الجغرافية المكانية على الصعيد العالمي، وأعربت عن تأييدها للاحتفال بالسنة الدولية للخرائط في 2015-2016 وفق اقتراح الرابطة الدولية لرسم الخرائط، بوصف ذلك وسيلة قيّمة لتعزيز أهمية الخرائط والمعلومات الجغرافية المكانية على الصعيد العالمي.
