13. The SBSTA expressed its readiness to support the Adaptation Committee in the implementation of relevant activities of its workplan through the NWP.

1. Notes with appreciation the progress made by the Adaptation Committee in the implementation of its three-year workplan, in particular:

Creation of an ad hoc group within the Adaptation Committee and identification of the tasks of the group, for a report containing recommendations and input for consideration by the Adaptation Committee in the third quarter of 2013
إنشاء فريق مخصص داخل لجنة التكيف وتحديد مهام الفريق، من أجل إعداد تقرير يتضمن توصيات ومدخلات لتنظر فيه لجنة التكيف في الربع الثالث من سنة 2013

The SBSTA expressed its readiness to support the Adaptation Committee in the implementation of relevant activities of its workplan through the Nairobi work programme.
18- وأعربت الهيئة الفرعية عن استعدادها لدعم لجنة التكيف في تنفيذ الأنشطة المناسبة من خطة عملها من خلال برنامج عمل نيروبي.

4. Decides that, as a consequence of the late nomination of members of the Adaptation Committee in 2012, the term of the members of the Adaptation Committee currently in office will end immediately before the first meeting of the Adaptation Committee in 2015 for members with a term of two years, and immediately before the first meeting of the Adaptation Committee in 2016 for members with a term of three years;

4. The Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), at its thirty-eighth session, expressed its readiness to support, through the Nairobi work programme on impacts, vulnerability and adaptation to climate change (NWP), the Adaptation Committee in the implementation of relevant activities within its workplan.
4- وأعربت الهيئة الفرعية للمشورة العلمية والتكنولوجية، في دورتها الثامنة والثلاثين، عن استعدادها لدعم لجنة التكيف في تنفيذ الأنشطة المناسبة من خطة عملها عن طريق برنامج عمل نيروبي المتعلق بتأثيرات تغير المناخ والقابلية للتأثر به والتكيف معه (برنامج عمل نيروبي).

7. In addition, the SBSTA may wish to consider the recommendation made on how the NWP could provide support to the Adaptation Committee in the implementation of relevant activities within its workplan.

113. Encourages the Adaptation Committee to establish subcommittees, panels, thematic advisory groups or task-focused ad hoc working groups, if required, to provide, inter alia, expert advice in different sectors and areas, in order to assist the Adaptation Committee in performing its functions and achieving its objectives;
113- يشجع لجنة التكيف على أن تنشئ عند الحاجة لجاناً فرعية، أو أفرقة خبراء، أو أفرقة استشارية مواضيعية، أو أفرقة عاملة مخصصة معنية بمهام محددة، لتقدم في جملة أمور أخرى مشورة الخبراء في مختلف القطاعات والمجالات، بغية مساعدة لجنة التكيف في أداء مهامها وتحقيق أهدافها؛

Making use of the authority of existing bodies; that is, the subsidiary bodies would draw from reports of the Adaptation Committee in drafting their conclusions, which could then be included in decisions by the COP.
(د) الاستفادة من سلطة الهيئات الموجودة؛ أي أن الهيئات الفرعية تستفيد من تقارير لجنة التكيف في صياغة استنتاجاتها التي يمكن عندئذ إدراجها في مقررات مؤتمر الأطراف.

16. The Adaptation Committee may establish subcommittees, panels, thematic advisory groups or task-focused ad hoc working groups, if required, to provide, inter alia, expert advice in different sectors and areas, in order to assist the Adaptation Committee in performing its functions and achieving its objectives.
16 يمكن للجنة التكيف أن تنشئ، عند الاقتضاء، لجاناً فرعية، أو أفرقة خبراء، أو أفرقة استشارية مواضيعية، أو أفرقة عاملة مخصصة مركّزة على المهام لتقدم، في جملة أمور أخرى، مشورة الخبراء في مختلف القطاعات والمجالات، بغية مساعدة لجنة التكيف في أداء مهامها وتحقيق أهدافها().

The task force will report to the Adaptation Committee at each of its meetings and via e-mail intersessionally, as necessary.
وستقدم فرقة العمل تقارير إلى لجنة التكيف في كل اجتماع من اجتماعاتها وعن طريق البريد الإلكتروني في الفترات الفاصلة بين الدورات، إذا اقتضى الحال.
