This Security Council in its resolution also urged more clearly than ever that State, nonState and international actors, including international financial institutions (IFIs), should take action to protect children affected by armed conflict.

11. Encourages the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict in his efforts to raise awareness worldwide and mobilize official and public opinion for the protection of children affected by armed conflict, including refugee minors;

82. In its resolution 1314 (2000), the Security Council called on regional organizations to take specific actions to protect children affected by armed conflict in their various regions.
82 - كما دعا مجلس الأمن في قراره 1314 (2000) المنظمات الإقليمية لاتخاذ إجراءات محددة لحماية الأطفال المتأثرين بالصراعات المسلحة في مختلف المناطق التي تعمل بها.

In this connection, the urgent need to protect children affected by the Afghan conflict compelled the Council to reiterate that concern in its resolution 1868 (2009).
