The World of Work Report 2008 published by the International Institute for Labour Studies of the International Labour Organization notes that income inequalities grew dramatically between the early 1990's and 2005 in most regions of the world.
فتقرير عام 2008 بشأن حالة العمل في العالم الذي يصدر عن المعهد الدولي لدراسات العمل التابع لمنظمة العمل الدولية يشير إلى أن التفاوتات في الدخل قد تعاظمت كثيرا بين أوائل عام 1990 وعام 2005 في معظم مناطق العالم.

The conference was organized by UNU/WIDER with the United Nations Secretariat for the World Summit for Social Development, the Economic Commission for Europe, the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes, the International Institute for Labour Studies, and the World Federation of United Nations Associations.

A study conducted by the International Institute for Labour Studies of the International Labour Organization (ILO) revealed that rises in inequality are related to such economic factors as technology-induced shifts in the demand for skilled labour, foreign direct investment and tariff liberalization.

61. With regard to the third major WSSD theme, UNDP supported an International Institute for Labour Studies project on social exclusion which analysed the key processes and patterns that contribute to the exclusion of people living in poverty from markets, assets, social services, entitlements and rights, and the kind of policies that are required to avert growing marginalization and promote social integration of excluded groups.
١٦ - وفيما يتعلق بالموضوع الرئيسي الثالث للقمة العالمية للتنمية الاجتماعية، قام البرنامج بدعم مشروع للمعهد الدولي لدراسات العمل بشأن الاستبعاد الاجتماعي جرى فيه تحليل العمليات واﻷنماط الرئيسية التي تساهم في استبعاد من يعيشون في ظل الفقر من اﻷسواق والممتلكات والخدمات الاجتماعية والاستحقاقات والحقوق، ونوع السياسات العامة اللازمة لتجنب التهميش المتزايد ولتشجيع الاندماج الاجتماعي للمجموعات المستبعدة.

Focusing on the social impact of globalization, Raymond Torres, Director of the International Institute for Labour Studies, ILO, explained that globalization in the form of free trade and foreign direct investment had brought about new growth and job creation; yet, the benefits have been unequally shared both across countries and within them.

78. In the Asian and Pacific region, examples include the regional programme on the Asian network of human resource development planning institutes and the Asian networking of national institutes of Labour Studies.
٧٨ - أما في منطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ، فتشمل اﻷمثلة البرنامج اﻹقليمي المعني بالشبكة اﻵسيوية لمعاهدة تخطيط تنمية الموارد البشرية، وكذلك الشبكة اﻵسيوية للمعاهد الوطنية لدراسات العمل.

Research by the International Institute of Labour Studies has shown that increased spending on active labour market policies of 0.5 per cent of GDP could increase medium-term employment rates by more than 1 per cent.
إذ بينت أبحاث المعهد الدولي لدراسات العمل أن زيادة الإنفاق على السياسات النشطة المتعلقة بسوق العمل بنسبة 0.5 في المائة من الناتج المحلي الإجمالي يمكن أن تؤدي إلى ارتفاع معدلات العمالة على المدى المتوسط بأكثر من 1 في المائة.

As a third major theme, UNDP supported a project of the International Institute of Labour Studies on social exclusion, which analysed the key processes that contribute to the exclusion of people living in poverty from markets, assets, social services, entitlements and rights, and policies that are needed to prevent marginalization and promote social integration of excluded groups (see E/1998/45).
