Mr. Ravishankara, member of the Scientific Assessment Panel Steering Committee for the 2006 Assessment, speaking also on behalf of Professor Janet Bornman, Co-Chair of the Environmental Effects Assessment Panel, spoke on behalf of the Scientific Assessment Panel and the Environmental Effects Assessment Panel.

The Environmental Effects Assessment Panel (EEAP) Co-Chair gave an overview of the key findings of the 2010 EEAP report, stating that the success of the Montreal Protocol has prevented large-scale environmental impacts of ozone depletion, such as increases in UV radiation and consequent damage to human health and ecosystems.
قدم الرئيس المشارك لفريق تقييم الآثار البيئية عرضاً عاماً للنتائج الرئيسية في تقرير الفريق لعام 2010، مشيراً إلى أن نجاح بروتوكول مونتريال قد منع حدوث تأثيرات بيئية واسعة النطاق ناجمة عن استنفاد الأوزون، مثل الزيادة في مستويات الأشعة فوق البنفسجية وما ينتج عنها من إضرار بالصحة العامة والنظم الإيكولوجية.

The representative of China introduced a conference room paper setting out a draft decision endorsing Mr. Shao Min (China) as the new co-chair of the Environmental Effects Assessment Panel and thanking Ms. Tang Xiaoyan (China), the outgoing co-chair of the Environmental Effects Assessment Panel, for her long and outstanding service on behalf of the Montreal Protocol.
