The October 2013 draft of the methodological guide for hazardous waste inventories was published on the website of the Convention and, in a letter dated 12 December 2013, circulated to all parties and Basel Convention regional and coordinating centres with an invitation to provide comments thereon by 31 January 2014.
8 - ونُشر الدليل المنهجي لقوائم النفايات الخطرة لشهر تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2013 على الموقع الشبكي للاتفاقية، وفي رسالة بتاريخ 12 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2013، عُمم على جميع الأطراف والمراكز الإقليمية والتنسيقية لاتفاقية بازل مع دعوة لتقديم تعليقات عليه بحلول 31 كانون الثاني/يناير 2014.

In the ensuing discussion, attention was drawn to the importance of improving the French-language version of the lists of wastes, to ensure their consistency with those in other languages and produced for such bodies as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The Open-ended Working Group is invited to note the corrections proposed and to submit a decision to the Conference of the Parties at its seventh meeting on whether to incorporate the changes into the French language version of the lists of wastes contained in Annex VIII and IX.

1. Invites comments from Parties and others on the conformity of the language versions of the lists of wastes contained in Annexes VIII and IX of the Convention, to be forwarded to the secretariat by 30 September 2003;

The Committee considered the guidance on the development of inventories for the first time at its ninth meeting, on 8 and 9 November 2012, on the basis of the note by the Secretariat on the issue (UNEP/CHW/CC.9/8), including the annex to that note setting out an October 2012 draft methodological guide for hazardous waste inventories.
