Japan fully supported the efforts of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for Myanmar and called upon Myanmar to receive both the Special Envoy and the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar as soon as possible.

In connection with the latter, the Advisory Committee recalls that the requirements for the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Myanmar are also submitted to the Assembly in the context of the relevant statement of programme budget implications and are included in the report in accordance with the request of the Committee to consolidate the overall resources for all special political missions.
وفيما يتصل بهذه البعثة، تشير اللجنة الاستشارية إلى أن الاحتياجات اللازمة للمستشار الخاص للأمين العام بشأن ميانمار مقدمة أيضا إلى الجمعية في سياق البيان ذي الصلة بالآثار المترتبة في الميزانية البرنامجية؛ وهي مدرجة في التقرير وفقا لطلب اللجنة توحيد الموارد العامة لجميع البعثات السياسية الخاصة.

In its forthcoming report on estimates in respect of special political missions, good offices and other political initiatives authorized by the General Assembly and/or the Security Council (A/69/628), the Advisory Committee reports on its consideration of the proposed resources relating to the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Myanmar for 2015.

Mr. Nambiar (Special Advisor to the Secretary-General on Myanmar), introducing the Secretary-General's report on the situation of human rights in Myanmar (A/67/333), said that he had visited Myanmar several times since October 2011 and had accompanied the Secretary-General on a visit in May 2012.

An informal meeting (closed) of the General Assembly will be held on Tuesday, 18 December 2007, from 3 to 4 p.m. in Conference Room 1, to hear a briefing by the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General on Myanmar, Mr. Ibrahim Gambari.
