Members of the Security Council could, as appropriate, on the initiative of a Council member, resort to the Arria formula, as an informal way to hear views and obtain or exchange information related to issues under consideration by the Council. The level of representation of the Security Council members should be commensurate with that of those invited.
يمكن، حسب الاقتضاء، أن يلجأ أعضاء مجلس الأمن، بناء على مبادرة من أحد أعضائه، إلى صيغة آريا، بوصفها طريقة غير رسمية للاستماع إلى الآراء والحصول على المعلومات المتصلة بمسألة قيد نظر المجلس أو لتبادل تلك المعلومات، وينبغي أن يكون مستوى تمثيل أعضاء مجلس الأمن متكافئا مع تمثيل المدعوين.

ويجوز لمجلس الأمن، مع مراعاة هذه المادة، أن يوافق على اللجوء، حسب الاقتضاء، إلى صيغة آريا كوسيلة غير رسمية للاستماع إلى الآراء والحصـــــول على معلومـات أو تبادلها مع الشخصيات أو المنظمات أو المؤسسات المشاركة في صراع ما أو من يراه وثيق الصلة بالموضوع " .

The co-chairperson of the open-ended intergovernmental working group on improving the governance and financial situation of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime conducted briefings for all delegations on 10 July 2008 and informal open-ended consultations on 11 September 2008 to hear views and receive input from delegations on their expectations and on the scope and envisaged outcome of the working group.

(1) يستعاض عن الجملة الأولى بالجملتين التاليتين: " يجوز لمجلس الأمن، بناء على مبادرة من أحد أعضائه، وبما يتمشى مع المادة 39 من نظامه الداخلي المؤقت، أن يلجأ، حسب الاقتضاء، إلى صيغة آريا للاستماع إلى الآراء والحصول على معلومات من الشخصيات أو المنظمات أو المؤسسات المشاركة في صراع ما، أو من يراه وثيق الصلة به، أو لتبادل تلك المعلومات معها.
