The Commission underlined the importance of such voluntary commitments and initiatives and invited the United Nations Environment Programme to report on its work in this area.
وأكدت اللجنة أهمية تلك الالتزامات والمبادرات الطوعية ودعت برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى أن يقدم تقريرا عن عمله في هذا المجال.

Concerned that the proliferation of trust funds requires the diversion of the human and other resources of the United Nations Environment Programme to administrative functions,
وإذ يراوده القلق من أن كثرة الصناديق الاستئمانية تتطلب تحويل موارد بشرية وغيرها من موارد برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى أغراض إدارية،

" 14. Invites the United Nations Environment Programme to provide ideas and proposals reflecting its experience and lessons learned as a contribution to the preparatory process for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012;
" 14 - تدعو برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى تقديم أفكار ومقترحات تعكس خبراته والدروس التي استفادها كمساهمة منه في العملية التحضيرية لمؤتمر الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة الذي سيعقد في عام 2012؛

1. Invites the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme to establish on an interim basis for the period 2005-2006:
1- يدعو المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى إنشاء على أساس مؤقت للفترة 2005-2006:

5. Invites the Secretariats of the Basel, Stockholm and Rotterdam Conventions and the United Nations Environment Programme to enhance cooperation on a mutually inclusive basis on synergies across the three Conventions;
5 - يدعو أمانات اتفاقيات بازل واستكهولم وروتردام وبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى تعزيز التعاون بصورة متبادلة وشاملة بشأن أوجه التآزر بين الاتفاقيات الثلاث؛

By the same decision, the Conference of the Parties invited the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme to consult with the authorities of the host Government regarding the practical arrangements for hosting the Secretariat in Geneva, noting that the United Nations headquarters agreement with Switzerland would continue to apply.
ودعا مؤتمر الأطراف، في المقرر نفسه، المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى التشاور مع السلطات لدى حكومة البلد المضيف بشأن الترتيبات العملية لاستضافة الأمانة في جنيف، مع مراعاة مواصلة تطبيق اتفاق الأمم المتحدة بشأن المقر الرئيسي المبرم مع سويسرا.

11. Draws the attention of the Governing Council of the United Nations Environment Programme to those irregularities with a view to its requesting immediate corrective action at its next scheduled sessions;
١١ - توجه نظر مجلس ادارة برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى تلك المخالفات للقواعد لكي يطلب المجلس اتخاذ اجراءات تصحيحية فورية في دوراته المقررة التالية؛

1. Commends the Executive Director for the positive outcomes of the support given by the United Nations Environment Programme to the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Forests and its successor the Intergovernmental Forum on Forests;
1 - يثني على المدير التنفيذي للنتائج الايجابية التي أسفر عنها الدعم الذي قدمه برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى عمل الفريق الحكومي الدولي المعني بالغابات المحفل الحكومي الدولي المعني بالغابات الذي تبعه؛

" 4. Calls upon the United Nations Environment Programme to contribute, within its mandate, to the preparations for the twelfth session of the Commission on Sustainable Development;
" 4 - تدعو برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى أن يساهم، في نطاق ولايته، في الإعداد للدورة الثانية عشرة للجنة التنمية المستدامة؛

4. Calls upon the United Nations Environment Programme to contribute, within its mandate, to the preparations for the twelfth session of the Commission on Sustainable Development, while avoiding duplication and overlap in the work of the two bodies;
4 - تدعو برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى أن يساهم، في نطاق ولايته، في الإعداد للدورة الثانية عشرة للجنة التنمية المستدامة، مع تجنب الازدواجية والتداخل بين عمل الهيئتين؛

4. Calls upon the United Nations Environment Programme to contribute, within its mandate, to the preparations for the twelfth session of the Commission on Sustainable Development, while avoiding duplication and overlap in the work of the two bodies;
4 - تهيب ببرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى أن يساهم، في نطاق ولايته، في الإعداد للدورة الثانية عشرة للجنة التنمية المستدامة، مع تجنب الازدواجية والتداخل بين عمل الهيئتين؛

11. Draws the attention of the Governing Council of the United Nations Environment Programme to these irregularities with a view to its requesting immediate corrective action at its next scheduled sessions;
١١ - توجه نظر مجلس ادارة برنامج اﻷمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى هذه المخالفات للقواعد لكي يطلب اتخاذ اجراءات تصحيحية فورية في دوراته المقررة التالية؛

10. Invites the United Nations Environment Programme to report on the project and its outcomes to the Open-ended Working Group at its first meeting andand to the Conference at its third session for consideration and possible decision on cooperative actions.
10 - يدعو كذلك برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى إعداد تقرير عن المشروع ونتائجه للفريق العامل المفتوح العضوية في اجتماعه الأول وإلى المؤتمر في دورته الثالثة لينظر فيه وربما يتخذ إجراءات تعاونية بشأنه.

8. Invites the President of the Conference of the Parties and the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme to write to the relevant Parties impressing on them the importance of paying their respective arrears for 2006 and previous years;
8 - يدعو رئيس مؤتمر الأطراف والمدير التنفيذي لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى الكتابة إلى الأطراف المعنية ليؤكّدا لها أهمية تسديد متأخراتها لعام 2006 والأعوام السابقة؛

11. Invites the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme to consider funding an officer to manage joint support services for the Rotterdam, Stockholm and Basel conventions;
11 - يدعو المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى النظر في تمويل وظيفة لإدارة خدمات الدعم المشتركة لاتفاقيات روتردام واستكهولم وبازل؛

Invites the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme to continue to ensure that staff training to comply with United Nations mandatory training for staff members is financed from programme support costs since it represents an overhead cost in the operations of the Secretariat;
20 - يدعو المدير التنفيذي لبرنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى العمل على ضمان تمويل تدريب الموظفين، امتثالاً لمبدأ التدريب الإلزامي للموظفين الذي تنتهجه الأمم المتحدة، من تكاليف دعم البرامج، نظراً إلى أن تمويل التدريب يمثل تكاليف عامة في إطار عمليات الأمانة؛

the UNEP Billion Tree Campaign resulted in 1.5 billion trees being planted worldwide.
وأدت حملة البليون شجرة التي تولاها برنامج الأمم المتحدة للبيئة إلى غرس 1.5 بليون شجرة في طول العالم وعرضه.

The eradication of hunger and poverty, and the sustainable use of the environment, depend in large measure on how people, communities and others gain access to land, fisheries and forests.
ويتوقف القضاء على الجوع والفقر، والاستخدام المستدام للبيئة إلى حدّ بعيد على طريقة وصول الأشخاص، والمجتمعات المحلية، وغيرهم إلى الأراضي ومصايد الأسماك والغابات.
