General Assembly resolution 43/173, adopted on 9 December 1988, produced a body of principles for the protection of all persons under any form of detention or imprisonment, stipulating that they must be treated in a humane manner and with respect for the inherent dignity of the human person.
إن قرار الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة رقم 173/43 في 19 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1988 قد تمخض عن وضع مجموعة مبادئ تتعلق بحماية جميع الأشخاص الذين يتعرضون للتوقيف أو السجن ومعاملتهم معاملة إنسانية وباحترام الكرامة الأصيلة للإنسان.
