" ٦ - يحث أيضا جميع الدول اﻷعضاء على توفير المساعدة المالية والسوقية وغيرها من أشكال المساعدة دعما لفريق الرصد التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا بغية تمكينه من الاضطلاع بولايته، وخاصة فيما يتعلق بتجميع الفصائل الليبرية ونزع سلاحها؛

“Stressing the importance of full cooperation and close coordination between the Mission and the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group in the implementation of their respective mandates,
" وإذ يؤكد أهمية التعاون الكامل والتنسيق الوثيق بين البعثة وفريق الرصد التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا في تنفيذ كل منهما لولايته،

“4. Condemns the recent armed attacks against personnel of the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group and against civilians, and demands that such hostile acts cease forthwith;
" ٤ - يدين الهجمات المسلحة اﻷخيرة ضد أفراد فريق الرصد التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا وضد المدنيين ويطالب بوقف هذه اﻷعمال العدائية فورا؛

“5. Expresses the Council's condolences to the Governments and peoples of the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group countries and the families of the personnel of the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group who have lost their lives;
" ٥ - يعرب عن مواساة المجلس لحكومات وشعوب بلدان الجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا وﻷسر أفراد فريق الرصد التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا الذين فقدوا أرواحهم؛

“The Council reaffirms its support for the Abuja Agreement as the only existing framework for resolving Liberia's political crisis and the crucial role of the Economic Community of West African States in bringing the conflict to an end.
" ويؤكد المجلس من جديد تأييده لاتفاق أبوجا بوصفه اﻹطار القائم الوحيد لحل اﻷزمة السياسية لليبريا، كما يؤيد الدور الحاسم للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا في وضع حد للنزاع.

“The Council calls upon the parties immediately to cease fighting, to observe the ceasefire and to return Monrovia to a safe haven under the protection of the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group.
" ويدعو المجلس اﻷطراف الى أن تتوقف على الفور عن القتال، وأن تمتثل لوقف إطلاق النار وأن تجعل منروفيا من جديد ملجأ آمنا تحت حماية فريق المراقبين العسكريين التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا.

“Firmly convinced of the importance of Monrovia as a safe haven, and noting especially the recent broader deployment of the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group in the city,
" وإذ يقتنع اقتناعا راسخا بأهمية أن تكون منروفيا ملاذا آمنا، وإذ يلاحظ بوجه خاص ما تم مؤخرا من نشر فريق الرصد التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا في المدينة على نطاق واسع،

“Stressing also that the presence of the Mission in Liberia is predicated on the presence of the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group and its commitment to ensure the safety of military observers and civilian staff of the Mission,

“13. Urges all Member States to provide financial, logistical and other assistance in support of the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group to enable it to carry out its mandate;
" ١٣ - يحث جميع الدول اﻷعضاء على تقديم المساعدة المالية والسوقية وغير ذلك من أشكال المساعدة دعما لفريق الرصد التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا لتمكينه من أداء ولايته؛

In the same vein, it reiterated its appeal to the international community to contribute generously to the Trust Fund for Liberia, established by the Secretary-General, to assist the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Monitoring Group (ECOMOG) to fulfil its mandate and also to provide assistance for the reconstruction of Liberia.
وبنفس الروح، كررت الجمعية العامة نداءها للمجتمع الدولي لﻹسهام بسخاء في الصندوق الاستئماني الذي أنشأه اﻷمين العام، لكي يقوم بمساعدة فريق الرصد التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا على الاضطلاع بولايته، وتوفير المساعدة لتعمير ليبريا.

We also invite them to cooperate fully with the Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group, the United Nations Observer Mission in Liberia and the rest of the international community in the search for a definitive solution to the problem in Liberia.
كما ندعوها إلى التعاون الكامل مع فريق المراقبة التابع للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا وبعثة المراقبة التابعة لﻷمم المتحدة في ليبريا وبقية المجتمع الدولي في السعي نحو إيجاد حل حاسم للمشكلة في ليبريا.

2. The consequent delay in the implementation of the ECOWAS peace plan has led to the exacerbation of the grave humanitarian situation in Sierra Leone, which was brought about by the coup of 25 May 1997 that led to total anarchy and the destruction of administrative, social and economic institutions in Sierra Leone.
٢ - وأدى التأخير اللاحق في تنفيذ خطة السلام للجماعة الاقتصادية لدول غربي أفريقيا إلى تفاقم الحالة اﻹنسانية الخطيرة في سيراليون الناجمة عن انقلاب ٢٥ أيار/ مايو ١٩٩٧ الذي أدى إلى فوضى عارمة وإلى تدمير المؤسسات اﻹدارية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية في سيراليون.
