To welcome the convening of the second Afro-Arab summit in the last quarter of this year and to express appreciation to the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya for hosting it;

The United States Mission to the United Nations presents its compliments to the Permanent Mission of the Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya to the United Nations and, with reference to the latter's note No. 549 of 22 March 2002 regarding the notice of intention to sell tax liens, wishes to inform the following:
تهدي بعثة الولايات المتحدة لدى الأمم المتحدة تحياتها إلى البعثة الدائمة للجماهيرية العربية الليبية الشعبية الاشتراكية لدى الأمم المتحدة وتود، بخصوص مذكرة الجماهيرية رقم 549 المؤرخة 22 آذار/مارس 2002 بشأن الإبلاغ عما يُعتزم من بيع امتيازات ضريبية، أن تطلعها على ما يلي:

In appreciation of the generosity of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya in hosting the proceedings of the 22nd ordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at summit level and its estimable efforts in preparing and organizing the proceedings of this session,
