Therefore, on 23 February 2012, the General Assembly adopted resolution 66/254, sponsored by the Russian Federation, on an intergovernmental process of the General Assembly on strengthening and enhancing the effective functioning of the human rights treaty body system.

38. On 17 and 21 February 2014, the Secretariat informed the Committee about the outcome of the intergovernmental process of the General Assembly on strengthening and enhancing the effective functioning of the human rights treaty body system.

Recalling its resolution 66/254 of 23 February 2012, by which it launched the intergovernmental process of the General Assembly on strengthening and enhancing the effective functioning of the human rights treaty body system, and its resolution 66/295 of 17 September 2012, by which it extended the intergovernmental process,
إذ تشير إلى قرارها 66/254 المؤرخ 23 شباط/فبراير 2012 الذي استهلت بموجبه العملية الحكومية الدولية التابعة للجمعية العامة المعنية بتدعيم وتعزيز فعالية أداء نظام الهيئات المنشأة بموجب معاهدات حقوق الإنسان وإلى قرارها 66/295 المؤرخ 17 أيلول/سبتمبر 2012 الذي مددت بموجبه العملية الحكومية الدولية،

6. Also authorizes for the Committee, without prejudice to the intergovernmental process of the General Assembly on strengthening and enhancing the effective functioning of the human rights treaty body system, the addition of two weeks of meeting time per year to the existing regular sessions, starting in 2014;
