The fifty-fifth session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee was held in London from 9 to 13 October 2006.

I would like to say a few words about the decisions of the fifty-second session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and about recognizing particularly sensitive Western European sea areas.

International Association of Ports and Harbors also attended the fifty-ninth session of Marine Environment Protection Committee, IMO, to discuss a range of issues for the enhancement of maritime environment, held in 2009, in London.
كما حضرت الرابطة الدورة التاسعة والخمسين للجنة حماية البيئة البحرية التابعة للمنظمة البحرية الدولية لمناقشة طائفة من المسائل من أجل تعزيز البيئية البحرية، المعقودة في لندن عام 2009.

IMO also prepared a Marine Environment Protection Committee circular on the Interim guidelines for voluntary ship CO2 (carbon dioxide) emission indexing for use in trials.

In this regard, we welcome the decision by the Russian Federation to present a comprehensive environmental evaluation to the next meeting of the Committee for Environmental Protection.

The Marine Environment Protection Committee's action was endorsed by the IMO Council at its sixty-ninth session, in November 1992.
وقد لقي هذا اﻹجراء للجنة حماية البيئة البحرية تأييدا من مجلس المنظمة البحرية الدولية في دورته التاسعة والستين المعقودة في تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر ١٩٩٢.

The Secretariat will also report to the Conference on the outcome of the fifty-fifth session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee of the IMO, which has been tasked by the IMO Assembly to develop a legally-binding instrument on ship recycling.

As indicated above, work on the draft convention and related guidelines will continue at the fifty-sixth session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee.

Given the desire for the information contained in those comments to be brought to the attention of IMO in time for the fifty-seventh session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee, it had been agreed that each comment should be prefaced with a short executive summary.

The proposals were submitted at the forty-ninth session of the IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee in July this year.

The SBSTA invited the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to report on the outcome of the 47th meeting of the Marine Environment Protection Committee to be held in March 2002;

The development of the reporting system will be further considered by the Working Group on Ship Recycling, which will meet from 13 to 15 July 2005, and at the fifty-third session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee, which will be held from 18 to 22 July 2005.
8 - سيتم إدخال المزيد من التطوير على نظام الإخطار وذلك بواسطة الفريق العامل المختص بإعادة تدوير السفن الذي سيجتمع خلال الفترة من 13 - 15 تموز/يولية 2005، وكذلك أثناء الدورة الثالثة والخمسين للجنة حماية البيئة البحرية التي ستعقد في الفترة من 18 إلى 12 تموز /يوليه 2005.

The list of " specially protected species " will be revised at the eleventh meeting of the Committee for Environmental Protection using the new guidelines.

She explained that a HELCOM Ministerial Meeting in June 2003 would address the environmental impacts of shipping and decide whether to designate the Baltic Sea as a Particularly Sensitive Sea Area (PSSA).
