The Supreme Command of the Korean People's Army (KPA) issued the following statement Tuesday:
أصدرت القيادة العليا للجيش الشعبي الكوري يوم الثلاثاء البيان التالي:

Despite verbal warnings and warning shots from the UNC guard post, the KPA patrol continued its movement south of the military demarcation line for approximately 30 minutes.
وبالرغم من التحذيرات الشفوية وطلقات التحذير من موقع الحراسة التابع لقيادة اﻷمم المتحدة، واصلت الدورية التابعة للجيش الشعبي الكوري تحركها إلى الجنوب من خط تعيين الحدود العسكرية لنحو ٣٠ دقيقة.

Finally, after numerous warnings to divert them back to the north, a UNC guard post provided direct fire in the vicinity of the KPA patrol.

The General Staff of the Korean People's Army clarified the principled retaliatory stand of the revolutionary armed forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to cope with the war maniacs' reckless war moves against it, the statement said, and went on:

The Korean People's Army further threatened to terminate contact and communication at Panmunjom if the United Nations Command refused to meet with the new representatives of the Korean People's Army Supreme Command.

CINCUNC signed the Armistice Agreement on behalf of all military forces under the unified command and the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA) and the Commander of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) signed the agreement on behalf of the communist forces.
وقد قام القائد اﻷعلى لقيادة اﻷمم المتحدة بالتوقيع على اتفاق الهدنة باسم جميع القوات العسكرية الخاضعة ﻹمرة القيادة الموحدة، كما قام القائد اﻷعلى للجيش الشعبي الكوري وقائد متطوعي الشعب الصيني بالتوقيع على الاتفاق باسم القوات الشيوعية.

This incident was followed by several meetings between the KPA Panmunjom mission and the UNCMAC secretariat.
وأعقب هذه الحادثة عدة اجتماعات بين بعثة بانمونجوم التابعة للجيش الشعبي الكوري وأمانة قيادة اﻷمم المتحدة في لجنة الهدنة المشتركة.

The North Koreans subsequently established the KPA Panmunjom mission using officers who had been part of the KPA MAC delegation.
