The application is for approval of a plan of work for exploration by way of a contract to be issued by the International Seabed Authority.

Each application for approval of a plan of work for exploration shall define the boundaries of the area under application by a list of coordinates in accordance with the most recent generally accepted international standard used by the Authority.

2. The area covered by each application for approval of a plan of work for exploration for polymetallic sulphides shall consist of a single group of not more than 100 contiguous polymetallic sulphide blocks.

8. Where an applicant seeking approval of a plan of work for exploration intends to finance the proposed plan of work for exploration by borrowings, its application shall include the amount of such borrowings, the repayment period and the interest rate.
8 - إذا كان مقدم الطلب، للحصول على الموافقة على خطة عمل للاستكشاف، يعتزم تمويل خطة العمل المقترحة للاستكشاف عن طريق القروض، يتضمن طلبه مقدار تلك القروض وفترة السداد وسعر الفائدة.
