In addition, the institutions supported the organization of the Second Extraordinary Meeting of AMCEN on Climate Change.

The Global Mechanism collaborated with the GEF Secretariat in organizing a special session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment in Burkina Faso to endorse the strategic investment programme in the meeting.

The second Africa Environment Outlook report was launched by the Prime Minister of Congo at the ministerial segment of the eleventh session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment, held in Brazzaville in May 2006.
