Members of the Security Council reiterated support for the decisions adopted on 23 July by the Fifteenth Summit of the Regional Initiative on Burundi and for the efforts of the Arusha Facilitator, Nelson Mandela, and of the Vice-President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma.

" The Security Council reiterates its support for the Regional Initiative, the South-African Facilitation and other partners of Burundi, and encourages them to sustain their commitment to bring the parties to overcome the current crisis and implement the Programme of Action adopted in Cape Town on 22 and 23 February 2008.

Mobilizing that network, the Centre would serve as a fundamental operational basis for the Regional Initiative on Technology Foresight for Central and Eastern Europe and the NIS, and be dedicated to consolidating contributions of foresight to the creation of new visions and a policy-making process addressing regional and national issues, awareness-raising and the development of foresight culture in the region.

- Strongly condemns the use of force to settle disputes and urges the armed groups to give a positive response to the calls made to them at the 13th summit under the Regional Initiative for peace in Burundi, in Nairobi on 20 September 2000, for an unconditional suspension of hostilities without delay and for the urgent resumption of negotiations to flesh out and implement the Arusha agreement;

The EU exhorts the Burundian Government, the National Assembly, the Senate and all political parties to take without delay all steps necessary for the organization of the elections, in line with the agenda set by the Regional Initiative at its meeting on 6 August, and to engage in the power-sharing agreement reached under the auspices of the Vice-President of South Africa, Jacob Zuma, as facilitator of the Regional Initiative.

I have the honour to transmit herewith the text of the Joint Declaration of the Regional Initiative on Iraq, which was held in Istanbul, Turkey, on 23 January 2003 with the participation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Syrian Arab Republic and the Republic of Turkey, as a host country (see annex).

:: The overall interdiction under Operation TARCET II (Targeted Anti-trafficking Regional Communication, Expertise and Training Initiative) in 2010 resulted in the seizure of 1,630 kg acetic anhydride in Afghanistan, 383 kg in Iran and 21,000 kg in Pakistan.
