Therefore, citizenship is transmitted by paternity, not by maternity except in two cases. In all cases, Lebanese women can not grant their children their citizenship. The law gives the Lebanese husband the right to pass his citizenship to his foreign wife, which is a right forbiden to the Lebanese woman.
إذاً تنتقل الجنسية بالأبوة ولا تنتقل بالأمومة إلا في حالتين استثنائيتين - وفي مجمل الأحوال لا يمكن للمرأة اللبنانية منح جنسيتها لأولادها - يسمح القانون للزوج اللبناني حق منح جنسيته إلى زوجته الأجنبية ويمنع هذا على المرأة اللبنانية بأن تعطي جنسيتها إلى زوجها الأجنبي.
