12. Regarding passive cooperation, the law states that " Spanish courts shall provide to foreign judicial authorities such cooperation as they may request in the conduct of their functions, in accordance with international treaties and agreements to which Spain is a party or, failing this, on the basis of reciprocity as provided for in the following article.
