The invitation included a copy of the provisional agenda for UNISPACE III and requested Governments to indicate the items of priority interest to them.

80. The Committee noted with satisfaction that the regional preparatory conferences for UNISPACE III had served to promote regional and interregional cooperation.

The Meeting also noted that the Assembly, in the same resolution, had requested the Committee, its Scientific and Technical Subcommittee and the Office for Outer Space Affairs to act as the Preparatory Committee, the Advisory Committee and the executive secretariat for UNISPACE III.

As one of the preparatory activities for UNISPACE III, the Office for Outer Space Affairs has prepared a number of background papers to provide Member States participating in the Conference, as well as in the regional preparatory meetings, with information on the latest status and trends in the use of space-related technologies.
وفي اطار اﻷنشطة التحضيرية لليونيسبيس الثالث أعد مكتب شؤون الفضاء الخارجي عددا من الورقات الخلفية بغية تزويد الدول اﻷعضاء المشتركة في المؤتمر وكذلك في الاجتماعات التحضيرية الاقليمية بمعلومات عن أحدث اﻷحوال والاتجاهات في استخدام التكنولوجيات ذات الصلة بالفضاء .

This is already being undertaken through a large number of follow-up activities of UNISPACE III. There are therefore four recommendations that remain to be addressed.

The Subcommittee noted that the Action Team would continue to provide input both to the Subcommittee's work on disaster management and to the General Assembly's five-year review of UNISPACE III in 2004.

The Subcommittee agreed to have the technical report widely distributed, including by making it available to UNISPACE III, the Legal Subcommittee at its thirty-ninth session, in 2000, international organizations such as COSPAR, IAA, IAF and IADC and other scientific meetings such as the annual IAF Congress.
