Allow me also, on behalf of my Government, to express appreciation to the Secretary-General, for his tireless work and laudable efforts in the midst of an international situation that can be described — at best — as difficult and complicated.

I also wish to express my great respect to Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary-General, for his commendable efforts at the head of the Secretariat to further enhance the position of our prestigious Organization and promote its performance, so that it can meet the many challenges posed on the international scene.
كما أعبر عن فائق التقدير للسيد بان كي - مون، الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة لما يقوم به من مجهودات محمودة على رأس الأمانة العامة أجل مزيد من تعزيز مكانة منظمتنا العتيدة وتطوير أدائها والارتقاء به إلى مستوى التحديات العديدة المطروحة على الساحة الدولية.

I take this opportunity also to express to the Secretary-General our great appreciation for his relentless efforts in promoting and strengthening the pacific, negotiated settlement of disputes and crises in various parts of the world. We commend him for his dedication to enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the Secretariat and to strengthening the Organization’s role in meeting humankind’s desire for progress, security and peace.
