ويعرب هذا القرار عـــن اﻷمل بأن يعزز التنفيذ الفعال لمدونة الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية بشأن ممارسات النقل الدولـــي عبر الحدود للنفايات المشعة. حماية جميع الدول من إلقاء النفايات المشعة في أراضيها.

كما أنه يعرب عن أمله في أن يفضي التنفيذ الفعال لمدونة الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية الخاصة بالممارسة المتعلقة بانتقال النفايات المشعة عبر الحدود الدولية، الى تعزيز حماية جميع الدول من إلقاء نفايات نووية، في انتظار إبرام اتفاقية سلامة إدارة النفايات المشعة المذكورة أعلاه.
