Having considered the various views that were expressed on the matter and reaffirming its general support for the principle of party autonomy, the Working Group decided that the provision should be retained and that the issue of possible exclusions or limitations to the draft article should be considered at a later stage, in the light of the Working Group's decision on the substantive provisions of the draft preliminary convention.
