2. The Convention on Biological Diversity is the primary international legal instrument for advancing the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising out of the use of genetic resources, while recognizing the important role of other conventions to the objectives of the Convention.
٢ - واتفاقية التنوع البيولوجي هي الصك القانوني الدولي الرئيسي للنهوض بحفظ التنوع البيولوجي وتعزيز الاستخدام المستدام لمكوناته وتقاسم الفوائد التي تجنى من استخدام الموارد الجينية تقاسما منصفا وعادلا، مع الاعتراف في الوقت نفسه بأهمية دور الاتفاقيات اﻷخرى في تحقيق أهداف هذه الاتفاقية.

6. The Conference of the Parties is vested with the responsibility of implementing the provisions of the Convention on Biological Diversity, of reviewing the further development of matters relating to the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components, and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of genetic resources and, where appropriate, of bringing these within the purview of the Convention.
٦ - وقد أنيطت بمؤتمر اﻷطراف مسؤولية تنفيذ احكام الاتفاقية المتعلقة بالتنوع البيولوجي، واستعراض التطور اللاحق في المسائل المتصلة بحفظ التنوع البيولوجي والاستخدام المستدام لمكوناته والتقاسم المنصف والعادل للفوائد المتأتية عن استخدام الموارد الجينية، وشمول هذه، حيثما كان مناسبا، بأحكام الاتفاقية.

5. Recognize the important role of the Convention on Biological Diversity, which has as its objectives, to be pursued in accordance with its relevant provisions, the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components and the fair and equitable sharing of the benefits arising out of the utilization of genetic resources;
5 - تقر بأهمية دور اتفاقية التنوع البيولوجي، والتي تشمل أهدافها الواجب اتباعها وفقا للأحكام ذات الصلة، حفظ التنوع البيولوجي والاستخدام المستدام لمكوناته والتقاسم المنصف والعادل للمنافع الناجمة عن استخدام الموارد الجينية؛

The benefits shared by users of genetic resources and traditional knowledge associated with genetic resources through this mechanism shall be used to support the conservation of biodiversity and the sustainable use of its components globally (article 10).
والمنافع التي يتقاسمها مستخدمو الموارد الجينية والمعارف التقليدية المرتبطة بها من خلال هذه الآلية يجب أن تُستخدم لدعم حفظ التنوع البيولوجي والاستخدام المستدام لمكوناته على الصعيد العالمي (المادة 10).

(h) Stress to Governments the advantages deriving from coordination between its work, that of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and that of other conventions, intergovernmental bodies and fora concerned with the conservation of biological diversity and the sustainable use of its components.

Biodiversity-related aid is defined as activities that promote at least one of the three objectives of the Convention: the conservation of biodiversity, sustainable use of its components (ecosystems, species or genetic resources), or fair and equitable sharing of the benefits of the utilisation of genetic resources.
تُعرف المعونة المتعلقة بالتنوع البيولوجي بأنها الأنشطة التي تشجع واحداً على الأقل من أهداف الاتفاقية الثلاثة: حفظ التنوع البيولوجي، أو الاستخدام المستدام لمكوناته (النظم الإيكولوجية أو الأنواع أو الموارد الجينية)، أو التقاسم العادل والمنصف لمزايا استخدام الموارد الجينية.

Sufficient data are available to establish that c-PentaBDE, due to the inherent properties of its components as regards of persistency, bioaccumulation, long-range environmental transport and toxicity, pose a sufficiently great risk to both humans and the environment to warrant a global ban (POPRC, 2006).
وتتوافر بيانات كافية لبيان أن المزيج التجاري c-PentaBDE، بالنظر إلى خواصه الكامنة لمكوناته فيما يتعلق بالثبات والتراكم الأحيائي والانتقال بعيد المدى في البيئة والسمية، يفرض مخاطر كبيرة كافية على الإنسان والبيئة مما يقتضي فرض حظر عالمي عليه (لجنة استعراض الملوثات العضوية الثابتة، 2006.
