1. The General Assembly has provided policy guidance to the United Nations system in the area of operational activities for development since 1977,1 when the first sessions dealing formally with the topic are recorded.
1 - تقدم الجمعية العامة منذ عام 1977(1)، إرشادات لمنظومة الأمم المتحدة فيما يتعلق بالسياسات التي تتبع في مجال الأنشطة التنفيذية المضطلع بها من أجل التنمية، وكان ذلك عندما بدأ تسجيل الدورات الأولى التي تناولت رسميا هذا الموضوع.

In the same resolution, the Assembly commended the Economic and Social Council for its debate and resolution on the question, and requested it to continue to consider, in consultation with the Special Committee, appropriate measures for the coordination of the policies and activities of the specialized agencies and other organizations of the United Nations system in implementing the relevant resolutions of the Assembly.
