However, the report goes onto state that " the representation of women in the national parliament has declined sharply and is well below the international 30 per cent target set at the 1995 United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women " and that " these low rates extend to all levels of political decision making " (p.34).

In its efforts to eliminate discrimination against women and to promote women's rights, the Chinese Government has taken full account of the Programme of Action of the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, the Millennium Development Goals and other important United Nations conference outcome documents.

The United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing in 1995 was the first to include a specific segment on the girl child, with a specific chapter in its subsequent Platform for Action.
وكان مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة المعقود في بيجين عام 1995 المؤتمر الأول الذي تضمن جزءاً خاصاً بالطفلة، مع تخصيص فصل محدد في منهاج عمله اللاحق().

The Beijing Platform for Action, adopted at the 1995 United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women, includes among its strategic objectives the need to ensure equality and non-discrimination under the law and in practice,2 and recommends that States revoke any remaining laws that discriminate on the basis of sex and remove gender bias in the administration of justice.2
ويشمل منهاج عمل بيجين الذي اعتمد خلال مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة سنة 1995 بين أهدافه الاستراتيجية ضرورة ضمان المساواة وعدم التمييز قانونا وفعلا(2) ويوصي الدول بنقض أي قوانين متبقية تنطوي على التمييز القائم على نوع الجنس، والتحامل الجنساني في مجال إقامة العدل(2).

During the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing 1995) the Polish Government signed the final documents of the conference - the Beijing Declaration and the Platform for Action - without any reservations or exclusions whatsoever, and expressed its desire to set about pursuing tasks resulting therefrom.
75 - وأثناء مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة (بيجين 1995) وقّعت الحكومة البولندية على الوثيقة الختامية للمؤتمر - إعلان ومنهاج عمل بيجين - بدون أي تحفظات أو استثناءات مهما كانت، وأعلنت عن رغبتها في أن تواصل عملها في إطار نتائج المؤتمر.

However, since the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995, greater efforts have been made to correct this shortcoming by including unpaid household work in the System of National Accounts (SNA) (used to calculate the GDP), especially in developed countries.
بيد أنه منذ انعقاد مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة العالمي الرابع المعني بالمرأة في بيجين في عام 1995، بُذلت جهود أكبر لتصحيح هذا التقصير عن طريق إدراج العمل غير المأجور في الأُسر المعيشية ضمن نظام الحسابات القومية (المستخدم لحساب الناتج المحلي الإجمالي)، ولا سيما في البلدان النامية.
