13- ووفقاً لأحكام الفقرة 7 من المقرر 16/م أ-9، يطلب إلى مكتب العلم والتكنولوجيا أن يختار، بدعم من الأمانة، المؤسسة الرائدة (الاتحاد الرائد) قبل سنتين على الأقل من موعد انعقاد كل مؤتمر علمي للاتفاقية.

15- يطلب كذلك إلى مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أن يختار، بدعم من الأمانة، المؤسسة الرائدة/الاتحاد الرائد قبل سنتين على الأقل من موعد انعقاد كل مؤتمر علمي مقبل لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة لمكافحة التصحر، على نحو يتماشى مع أحكام الفقرة 8 من المقرر 16/م أ-9؛
