14. The Committee shall invite any Party that has submitted a proposal for listing a chemical in Annexes A, B or C of the Convention to its meetings where the chemical is discussed.

The tasks of the Committee are outlined in article 8. In brief, the Committee will examine information submitted by a Party in support of a proposal for listing of a chemical in Annexes A, B or C. The outcome of the screening evaluation will be communicated to all Parties and observers for comments and input of additional information.

10. The Committee shall invite Parties that have submitted proposals for listing a chemical in Annexes A, B or C of the Convention as observers to its meetings where the chemical is discussed.

The Committee has before it a note by the Secretariat on the process to verify whether a proposal pursuant for listing a chemical in Annexes A, B or C contains the information specified in Annex D (UNEP/POPS/POPRC.1/INF/4).

This document aims to describe a simplified and practical approach on how the information on climate change interactions with the chemicals proposed for listing can be presented and applied by the drafter in the development of a proposal for listing a chemical in Annexes A, B and/or C (Annex D), the risk profile (Annex E), and the risk management evaluation (Annex F).

10. The Committee shall invite Parties that have submitted proposals for listing a chemical in Annexes A, B or C of the Convention [and Parties that are major producers [and users] of the chemical] [as observers] to its meetings where the chemical is discussed.

" A Party submitting a proposal to list a chemical in Annexes A, B and/or C shall identify the chemical in the manner described in subparagraph (a) and provide the information on the chemical, and its transformation products where relevant, relating to the screening criteria set out in subparagraphs (b) to (e) " [emphasis added].
