I would also like to express my delegation’s appreciation for the commendable and skilful way in which Ambassador de Icaza has handled the difficult work of the Ad Hoc Committee on negative security assurances and the anticipated performance of Ambassador Mark Moher in the brief period that he served as the Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee established under item 1.
وأود أيضاً أن أعرب عن تقدير وفد بلدي لﻷسلوب الذي يستحق الثناء والماهر الذي تغلﱠب به السفير دي إيكازا على صعوبة العمل في اللجنة المخصصة لضمانات اﻷمن السلبية واﻷداء المتوقع للسفير مارك موهير في الفترة القصيرة التي تولى فيها رئاسة اللجنة المخصصة المنشأة في إطار البند ١ من جدول اﻷعمال.

Thanks to the painstaking efforts of the previous Presidents, the Conference was able to move the establishment of two Ad Hoc Committees, and I would like to join in the tributes to the Chairmen, Ambassador Antonio de Icaza and Ambassador Mark Moher, for the direction they have given to the work of their respective Ad Hoc Committees.
وتمكن بفضل الجهود المكثفة التي بذلها الرؤساء السابقون، من المبادرة بإنشاء لجنتين مخصصتين، وأود أن انضم إلى اﻹشادة برئيسيهما السفير انطونيو دي إيكازا والسفير مارك موهير للاتجاه الذي أعطياه للعمل في كل من اللجنتين المخصصتين.

11. At the 804th plenary meeting on 20 August 1998, the Conference appointed Ambassador Mark Moher of Canada as Chairman of the Ad Hoc Committee under item 1 of the agenda entitled “Cessation of the nuclear arms race and nuclear disarmament”.
