2. follow-up to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance

In this report, the Special Rapporteur describes the activities in which he participated as part of the follow-up to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance in the period since the sixty-first session of the General Assembly.
يعرض المقرر الخاص في هذا التقرير للأنشطة التي شارك فيها في إطار متابعة المؤتمر العالمي لمناهضة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكره الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب، خلال الفترة المنصرمة منذ الدورة الحادية والستين للجمعية العامة.

The Council had also approved the establishment of two new working groups as part of follow-up to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held in 2001, as well as the establishment of a voluntary fund to provide additional resources for various activities relating to the effective implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action.

10. At its sixtieth session, from 4 to 22 March 2002, the Committee adopted its general recommendation 28, on follow-up to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance.

As a follow-up to the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance in Durban, South Africa, in 2001, Ireland developed the National Action Plan against Racism that focused on supporting key stakeholders in the development of locally based anti-racism strategies and social inclusion measures to promote diversity;
وفي إطار متابعة المؤتمر العالمي لمناهضة العنصرية والتمييز العنصري وكراهية الأجانب وما يتصل بذلك من تعصب الذي عُقد في ديربان بجنوب أفريقيا في عام 2001، وضعت أيرلندا خطة العمل الوطنية لمناهضة العنصرية وهي الخطة الني تركز على تقديم الدعم إلى الأطراف الرئيسية صاحبة المصلحة من أجل وضع استراتيجيات ذات أسس محلية لمناهضة العنصرية وتدابير للإدماج الاجتماعي تكفل تعزيز التنوع؛

(f) Lastly, the Chairpersons agreed that the next joint meeting with special procedures mandate holders, in June 2002, should be devoted in part to a joint discussion of the role of the human rights mechanisms in the follow-up to the World Conference against Racism.
