وأورد تقرير أعده برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي عام 2006 أن مجلة الأحوال الشخصية في تونس ليس لها نظير في العالم العربي بوصفها نموذجاً لتعزيز مبدأ المساواة في العلاقات الزوجية وفي القانون من خلال تفادي تفسيرات قديمة للشريعة تمس حقوق المرأة.

Since 1995, Tunisia had also developed its legislative system, including the Personal Status Code, the Nationality Code, the Electoral Code and the Labour Code, in line with development needs.
