In that connection, the Committee also considered several proposals made at the meeting and requested the outgoing Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Jassim Mohammed Buallay of Bahrain, to brief the incoming Chairman, to be elected in January 2000, on those proposals for subsequent action by the Committee.

The bureau of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 751 (1992) concerning Somalia consisted, for 1999, of Jassim Mohammed Buallay (Bahrain) as Chairman, the delegations of the Gambia and the Netherlands providing the two Vice-Chairmen.

3. At its 14th meeting, on 6 January 1998, the Committee elected its bureau for 1998, which consisted of Ambassador Jassim Mohammed Buallay (Bahrain) as Chairman, with the delegations of Costa Rica and Gambia providing the two Vice-Chairmen.

At its 1st meeting, on 14 January, pursuant to paragraph 2 (k) of its resolution 1988/77, the Council elected by acclamation the following persons as Vice-Presidents of the Council for 2002: Gert Rosenthal (Guatemala), Marjatta Rasi (Finland), Jassim Mohammed Buallay (Bahrain) and Dumisani Shadrack Kumalo (South Africa).
3 - عملا بالفقرة 2 (ك) من قرار المجلس 1988/77، انتخب المجلس بالتزكية، في جلسته الأولى المعقودة في 14 كانون الثاني/يناير، خيرت روزنتال (غواتيمالا) ومارياتا راسي (فنلندا) وجاسم محمد بوعلاي (البحرين) ودوميساني شادراك كومالو (جنوب أفريقيا) نواباً لرئيس المجلس لعام 2002.
