After she was asked to serve as the United Nations official responsible for following the question of missing persons, the Special Rapporteur was represented at the Belgrade meeting by a UNHCHR officer.

٤ - تقرر أن يكون المفوض السامي لحقوق اﻹنسان هو مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام.

22.29 In accordance with General Assembly resolution 48/141 of 20 December 1983 and subsequent decisions of policy-making organs, the High Commissioner is the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General.
٢٢-٢٩ ووفقا لقرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/١٤١ المؤرخ ٢٠ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٨٣، والقرارات اللاحقة ﻷجهزة تقرير السياسة، فإن المفوض السامي هو مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتولى المسؤولية الرئيسية عن اﻷنشطة المتعلقة بحقوق اﻹنسان وفقا لتوجيهات اﻷمين العام وتحت سلطته.

22.29 In accordance with General Assembly resolution 48/141 of 20 December 1983 and subsequent decisions of policy-making organs, the High Commissioner is the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General.

21. As the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities, the High Commissioner attaches special importance to the coordination of United Nations system-wide activities.
٢١ - يعلق المفوض السامي، بوصفه مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل المسؤولية اﻷساسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في مجال حقوق اﻹنسان، أهمية خاصة على تنسيق اﻷنشطة المضطلع بها على نطاق منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة.

The General Assembly provided that the High Commissioner would be the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General and within the framework of the overall competence, authority and decisions of the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the Commission on Human Rights.

21. In paragraph 4 of its resolution 48/141, the General Assembly decided that the High Commissioner for Human Rights would be the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General.
٢١ - قررت الجمعية العامة في الفقرة ٤ من قرارها ٤٨/١٤١ أن يكون المفوض السامي لحقوق اﻹنسان هو مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل، في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام، المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان.

٧- عملا بقرار الجمعية العامة ٨٤/١٤١، فإن المفوض السامي لحقوق اﻹنسان هو مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل، في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام، المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان، وفي إطار سلطة ومقررات الجمعية العامة والمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي ولجنة حقوق اﻹنسان.

Under the above resolution, the High Commissioner for Human Rights is the United Nations official with the principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General and within the overall framework of the competence, authority and decisions of the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the Commission on Human Rights.
٢٢ - وبموجب القرار المتقدم، فإن المفوض السامي لحقوق اﻹنسان هو مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان، وذلك في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام وفي إطار جملة اختصاصات وسلطة ومقررات الجمعية العامة والمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي ولجنة حقوق اﻹنسان عموما.

35.12 At the same session, the General Assembly also established the post of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights as the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities, under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General (resolution 48/141 of 20 December 1993).
٣٥-١٢ وأنشأت الجمعية العامة أيضا في الدورة ذاتها منصب مفوض اﻷمم المتحدة السامي لشؤون اﻹنسان بوصفه مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل، في ظل توجيه وسلطة اﻷمين العام، المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان )القرار ٨٤/١٤١ المؤرخ ٢٠ كانون اﻷول/ديسمبر ١٩٩٣(

(c) Be the United Nations official with principal responsibility for the promotion and protection of all human rights with responsibility, inter alia, for the overall supervision of the Centre for Human Rights and other United Nations offices as may be designated by the Secretary-General.
)ج( يكون مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل المسؤولية الرئيسية عن تعزيز وحماية جميع حقوق اﻹنسان، وتشمل مسؤوليته في جملة أمور، الاشراف العام على مركز حقوق اﻹنسان ومكاتب اﻷمم المتحدة اﻷخرى حسبما يحدده اﻷمين العام.

(c) Decide that the High Commissioner for Human Rights will be the United Nations official with principal responsibility for United Nations human rights activities under the direction and authority of the Secretary-General; within the framework of the overall competence, authority and decisions of the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the Commission on Human Rights, the High Commissioner's responsibilities would be:
)ج( تقرر أن يكون المفوض السامي هو مسؤول اﻷمم المتحدة الذي يتحمل المسؤولية الرئيسية عن أنشطة اﻷمم المتحدة في ميدان حقوق اﻹنسان في ظل توجيه، وسلطة، اﻷمين العام. وفي إطار الاختصاص الشامل وسلطة وقرارات الجمعية العامة، والمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي، ولجنة حقوق اﻹنسان، تكون مسؤوليات المفوض السامي كما يلي:
