Following intensive deliberations, the Commission decided to recommend to the Economic and Social Council that the work initiated by the Working Group with regard to the collection of relevant information, the review of international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet and the identification of gaps might be continued by the secretariat of the Commission.

It was suggested that, in preparing comments, contributors reflect, above all, on what international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet were not being adequately addressed by current mechanisms and what specific processes should be pursued to enhance international cooperation in these areas.

19. The Tunis Agenda also recognized the need for enhanced cooperation in Internet-related international public policymaking, but not in the day-to-day technical and operational matters that do not have an impact on international public policy issues.

20. Paragraph 69 of the Tunis Agenda underlines the need for enhanced cooperation to enable Governments to carry out their roles and responsibilities in international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet.

25. He noted with concern the slow progress on the establishment of a more transparent, inclusive and representative system of Internet governance and stressed the need for enhanced cooperation to enable Governments, on an equal footing, to carry out their roles and responsibilities in international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet.
25 - وأشار مع القلق إلى التقدم البطيء المحرز في إنشاء نظام لإدارة الإنترنت أكثر شفافية وشمولا وتمثيلا. وشدد على الحاجة إلى تعزيز التعاون من أجل تمكين الحكومات، على قدم المساواة، من الاضطلاع بأدوارها ومسؤولياتها في مسائل السياسة العامة الدولية المتصلة بالإنترنت.

30. Also notes the work initiated by the Working Group to review the identified international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet, list where there are existing international mechanisms addressing these issues, identify the status of mechanisms, if any, and whether they are addressing the issues, and attempt to identify gaps in order to ascertain what type of recommendations may be required;
30 - يلاحظ أيضا العمل الذي بدأه الفريق العامل لاستعراض ما تم تحديده من مسائل السياسة العامة الدولية المتعلقة بالإنترنت، وإحصاء الآليات الدولية القائمة حاليا لمعالجة هذه المسائل، وتحديد وضع هذه الآليات، إن وجدت، وما إذا كانت تقوم بمعالجة المسائل وتسعى إلى تحديد الثغرات في محاولة للتأكد من نوع التوصيات التي قد يلزم تقديمها؛

13. While it was recognized that cooperation on international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet had been enhanced to varying degrees in many organizations and across a wide spectrum of issue areas since the holding of the World Summit on the Information Society, it was noted that there was room for continued dialogue, in particular among States, given their rights and responsibilities in international public policymaking.

In particular, the Summit, in paragraph 69 of the Tunis Agenda recognized " the need for enhanced cooperation in the future, to enable governments, on an equal footing, to carry out their roles and responsibilities, in international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet, but not in the day-to-day technical and operational matters, that do not impact on international public policy issues " .
وعلى وجه الخصوص سلم مؤتمر القمة، في الفقرة 69 من برنامج عمل تونس، " بالحاجة في المستقبل إلى تعاونية معززة لتمكين الحكومات من أن تنفذ أدوارها وتضطلع بمسؤولياتها على قدم المساواة، في مسائل السياسة العامة الدولية المتعلقة بالإنترنت، ولكن ليس في الشؤون اليومية التقنية والتشغيلية التي لا تؤثر على مسائل السياسة العامة الدولية " .
