Indirect costs tended to be omitted from ERP projects' budget, as well as the projection of maintenance and upgrade costs, despite the fact that they constitute the biggest cost proportion in an ERP system's life cycle and that there is a direct causal relationship between the initial customizations made to such a system and its future maintenance and upgrade costs.
وتُغفَل التكاليف غير المباشرة عادة من ميزانية مشاريع نظم التخطيط ومن التكاليف المتوقعة للصيانة والترقية البرمجية، رغم أنها تشكل أكبر نسبة من التكلفة في دورة حياة النظام، ورغم وجود علاقة سببية مباشرة بين التكييفات المدخلة في البداية على النظام وتكلفة صيانته وترقيته لاحقاً.

Therefore, ERP projects should be owned at the highest level of organizations and require the full engagement, commitment and leadership from senior managers in all business areas involved throughout the implementation of the project.
