Each participating institute and organization shared information on its educational activities and, on this occasion, the Office stressed the importance of human rights institutes being actively involved in the Decade and in building a partnership with the United Nations human rights programme within that framework.

17. The annual meeting of directors of human rights institutes convened by UNESCO with the active involvement of the Office of the High Commissioner was held in Paris on 20 and 21 September 1999, and was expected to be attended by over 40 human rights institutes and UNESCO chairs from all over the world.

26. The Office actively participated in the Annual Meeting of Directors of human rights institutes, convened by UNESCO in Paris on 19 and 20 March 1998, which was attended by over 30 human rights institutes and UNESCO Chairs from all over the world.
٢٦ - شاركت المفوضية بفعالية في الاجتماع السنوي لمديري معاهد حقوق اﻹنسان، الذي دعت اليونسكو إلى عقده في باريس يومي ١٩ و ٢٠ أذار/ مارس ١٩٩٨، وحضره ما يزيد على ٣٠ معهدا من معاهد حقوق اﻹنسان ورؤساء اليونسكو من جميع أنحاء العالم.

The following five Nordic human rights institutes were represented: Danish Centre for Human Rights, Copenhagen (Denmark); Human Rights Institute of Åbo Akademi University, Turku (Finland); Icelandic Human Rights Centre, Reykjavik (Iceland); Norwegian Institute of Human Rights at the University of Oslo (Norway); Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at Lund University (Sweden).
