32. With reference to the recommendations contained in the report of the Meeting of Eminent Persons on Commodity Issues, UNCTAD XI launched the idea of a global partnership in the form of an international task force on commodities.

4. In accordance with paragraph 183 of the Accra Accord, the Commodities Branch of the Division on International Trade in Goods and Services, and Commodities, was transformed into an autonomous Special Unit on commodities (SUC) which reports directly to the Secretary-General of UNCTAD.
4- وعملاً بالفقرة 183 من اتفاق أكرا، تحوّل فرع السلع الأساسية التابع لشعبة التجارة الدولية في السلع والخدمات والسلع الأساسية إلى وحدة خاصة مستقلة معنية بالسلع الأساسية تقدم تقاريرها مباشرة إلى الأمين العام للأونكتاد.

The Commodities Branch has been spun off into a new Special Unit on commodities, reporting to the Secretary-General; the work programme for 2008 - 2009 is under way and budget proposals for the biennium 2010 - 2011 are in an advanced state of preparation.
فقد أُدمج فرع السلع الأساسية في وحدة خاصة جديدة معنية بالسلع الأساسية ومسؤولة أمام الأمين العام؛ وبرنامج العمل للفترة 2008-2009 يجري تنفيذه؛ ومقترحات الميزانية لفترة السنتين 2010-2011 بلغت مرحلة إعداد متقدمة.

In addition, in accordance with paragraph 183 of the Accra Accord, the current Commodities Branch of the Division on International Trade in Goods and Services, and Commodities, will be transformed into an autonomous Special Unit on commodities within subprogramme 3 (ibid., para. 12.5).
