11. In accordance with decision V/23 of COP 5 of the CBD, an Ad Hoc Technical Expert Group (AHTEG) on the Biodiversity of Dry and Sub-humid Lands was established by the SBSTTA jointly with the UNCCD secretariat.

14. The representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) stated that UNESCO is finalizing a memorandum of understanding with the CCD secretariat to enhance collaboration, particularly in the sectors of education, science and culture.
