1. Requests the Committee on Science and Technology (CST) Bureau, in collaboration with the lead institution or consortium selected to co-organize the next CST scientific meeting, to link with networks, institutions, agencies and bodies to address the thematic priority;

In decision 13/COP.8, the COP decided that each future ordinary session of the CST shall be organized in a predominantly scientific and technical conference-style format by the Bureau of the CST in consultation with the lead institution/consortium.
10- قرر مؤتمر الأطراف في مقرره 13/م أ-8 أن يقوم مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا، بتنظيم كل دورة عادية مقبلة للجنة في شكل يغلب عليه طابع المؤتمر العلمي والتقني، بالتشاور مع المؤسسة الرائدة/الاتحاد الرائد.

8. In decision 13/COP.8, the COP decided that each future ordinary session of the CST shall be organized in a predominantly scientific and technical conference-style format by the Bureau of the CST in consultation with the lead institution/consortium.
8- قرر مؤتمر الأطراف، بموجب مقرره 13/م أ-8، أن ينظم مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا كل دورة عادية مقبلة للجنة في شكل يغلب عليه طابع المؤتمر العلمي والتقني، بالتشاور مع المؤسسة الرائدة/الاتحاد الرائد.

The COP decided that each future ordinary session of the CST should be organized in a predominantly scientific and technical conference-style format by the CST Bureau in consultation with a lead institution/consortium which was qualified in, and had expertise in, the relevant thematic topic selected by the COP.
2- وقرر مؤتمر الأطراف أن ينظم مكتب اللجنة كل دورة عادية مقبلة للجنة في شكل يغلب عليه طابع المؤتمر العلمي والتقني، بالتشاور مع المؤسسة الرائدة/الاتحاد الرائد المؤهل وصاحب الخبرة الفنية في الموضوع ذي الصلة الذي يختاره مؤتمر الأطراف.

Recalling further the provisions of decision 13/COP.8 that each future ordinary session of the Committee on Science and Technology shall be organized in a predominantly scientific and technical conference-style format by the Bureau of the Committee in consultation with the lead institution/consortium,

In cooperation with the lead institution Global Risk Forum (GRF) Davos, the secretariat facilitated the preparatory work of the steering committee and the scientific advisory committee, as well as the planning of the conference programme and involvement of speakers.
وسهلت الأمانة، بالتعاون مع المؤسسة الرائدة للمؤتمر، وهي منتدى دافوس للمخاطر العالمية، الأعمال التحضيرية للجنة التوجيهية واللجنة الاستشارية العلمية، فضلاً عن التخطيط لبرنامج المؤتمر ولمداخلات المشاركين.

By decision 13/COP.8, each future ordinary session of the CST shall be organized in a predominantly scientific and technical conference-style format by the Bureau of the CST in consultation with the lead institution/consortium.
8- ينص المقرر 13/م أ-8 على أن يقوم مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا بتنظيم كل دورة مُقبلة من الدورات العادية للجنة في شكل يغلب عليه طابع المؤتمر العلمي والتقني، وذلك بالتشاور مع المؤسسة الرائدة/الاتحاد الرائد.

3. Also requests the CST Bureau to develop the terms of reference for the CST meeting referred to in paragraph 1 (a) above, in consultation with the lead institution/consortium;
3- يطلب أيضاً إلى مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أن يعد الاختصاصات المتعلقة باجتماع لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا، المشار إليه في الفقرة 1(أ) أعلاه، بالتشاور مع المؤسسة الرائدة/الاتحاد الرائد؛

33. Remembering decision 13/COP.8, paragraph 1, the COP decided that each future ordinary session should be organized in a predominantly scientific and technical conference-style format by the Bureau of the CST in consultation with the lead institution/consortium, which is qualified in and has expertise in the relevant thematic topic selected by the COP.
33- قرر مؤتمر الأطراف متذكراً الفقرة 1 من المقرر 13/م أ-8 أن يقوم مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا بتنظيم كل دورة عادية مقبلة للجنة في شكل يغلب عليه طابع المؤتمر العلمي والتقني، بالتشاور مع المؤسسة الرائدة/الاتحاد الرائد، الجهة المؤهّلة وذات الخبرة الفنية في الموضوع ذي الصلة الذي يختاره مؤتمر الأطراف.

The COP also requested the CST Bureau to develop the terms of reference for the CST meeting referred to in paragraph 1 (a) of decision 13/COP.8, in consultation with the lead institution/consortium.
4- كذلك طلب مؤتمر الأطراف إلى مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أن يضع الاختصاصات المتعلقة باجتماع اللجنة، المشار إليه في الفقرة 1(أ) من المقرر 13/م أ-8، بالتشاور مع المؤسسة الرائدة/الاتحاد الرائد.

12. The COP, by its decision 13/COP.8, paragraph 1 (a), decided that each future ordinary session of the CST shall be organized in a predominantly scientific and technical conference-style format by the Bureau of the CST in consultation with the lead institution/consortium, which is qualified in and has expertise in the relevant thematic topic selected by the COP.

8. The COP, by its decision 13/COP.8, paragraph 1 (a), decided that each future ordinary session of the CST shall be organized in a predominantly scientific and technical conference-style format by the Bureau of the CST in consultation with the lead institution/consortium, which is qualified in and has expertise in the relevant thematic topic selected by the COP.

Further requests the CST Bureau, in collaboration with the lead institution or consortium selected to co-organize the next CST scientific meeting, to include the non-governmental organizations and other civil society stakeholders in the network, in line with the participatory approach recommended for combating desertification.
2- يطلب كذلك إلى مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا أن يقوم، بالتعاون مع المؤسسة الرائدة أو الاتحاد الرائد المختار لتنظيم الاجتماع العلمي القادم للجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا تنظيماً مشتركاً، بإدخال المنظمات غير الحكومية وأصحاب المصلحة الآخرين من المجتمع المدني في الشبكة، وفقاً للنهج القائم على المشاركة الموصى به لمكافحة التصحر.

(d) Include presentations by other institutions, other environmental conventions, NGOs and individuals with experience of the thematic topic concerned, as decided upon by the Bureau of the CST in consultation with the lead institution/consortium, ensuring that there is a global call thereby giving every opportunity for contributions from all regions;
(د) أن تشمل العروض المقدمة من المؤسسات الأخرى، والاتفاقيات البيئية الأخرى، والمنظمات غير الحكومية والأفراد ذوي الخبرة في الموضوع المعني، على نحو ما يقرره مكتب لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا بالتشاور مع المؤسسة الرائدة/الاتحاد الرائد، مع ضمان توجيه نداء عالمي يتيح كل الفرص الممكنة لتقديم المساهمات من جميع المناطق؛

To this end, by its decision 13/COP.8, Parties decided that each future ordinary session of the Committee on Science and Technology (CST) should be organized in a predominantly scientific and technical conference-style format by the CST Bureau in consultation with a lead institution/consortium that is qualified in and has expertise in the relevant thematic topic selected by the COP.
