روما ـ بعد مرور عشرين عاماً على انهيار يوغوسلافيا والنظام الشيوعي في ألبانيا، تمر منطقة البلقان الغربية الآن بنقطة تحول مرة أخرى. فقد التحقت سلوفانيا بعضوية الاتحاد الأوروبي، وأصبحت كرواتيا قاب قوسين أو أدنى من الالتحاق بعضويته، وبدأت كل دول المنطقة في سلوك مسار متوافق مع عضوية الاتحاد الأوروبي. ولكن يبقى الخطر قائماً وتظل احتمالات تقويض التقدم الإيجابي الذي تم إحرازه.
