My delegation notes with satisfaction the increasing number of cooperative arrangements between the United Nations system and the OIC and its specialized institutions.
ومن دواعي الرضا أن نرى زيادة عدد الترتيبات التعاونية بين منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي ومؤسساتها المتخصصة.

In the operative paragraphs, the General Assembly, inter alia, expresses its appreciation to the Secretary-General for his continued efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the United Nations system and the OIC to serve the mutual interests of the two organizations in the political, economic, social and cultural fields.
وفي فقرات المنطوق، فإن الجمعية العامة، في جملة أمور، تعرب عن تقديرهــا لﻷمين العـام لما يبذله من جهود متواصلة لتعزيز التعاون والتنسيق بين منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي لخدمــة المصالح المتبادلة للمنظمتين في الميادين السياسي والاقتصادي والثقافي.

For this purpose, it was agreed that consultations should be undertaken between the secretariats of the United Nations and OIC with a view to defining the mechanisms for such cooperation.
ولهذ الغرض، ووفق على إجراء مشاورات بين أمانات منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي بهدف تحديد آليات مثل هذا التعاون.

115. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) welcomes the programme of meetings between the organizations of the United Nations system and OIC.
١١٥ - ترحب منظمة الطيران المدني الدولي ببرنامج الاجتماعات المعقودة بين مؤسسات منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي.

21. The relations between the ILO and OIC date from 1980, and have been further strengthened since the inception of general consultations between the United Nations system and OIC in 1993.
١٢ - ترجع العلاقات القائمة بين منظمة العمل الدولية ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي إلى عام ١٩٨٠، وقد زاد دعمها منذ بداية المشاورات العامة بين منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي في عام ١٩٩٣.

This cooperation was further strengthened following the meeting of the focal points of the lead agencies of the United Nations system and OIC and its specialized institutions, held at Geneva from 19 to 21 June 1995.
وازداد تعزيز هذا التعاون عقب اجتماع مراكز تنسيق الوكالات الرائدة في منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي ومؤسساتها المتخصصة، الذي عقد في جنيف في الفترة من ١٩ الى ٢١ حزيران/يونيه ١٩٩٥.

2. In the same resolution, the General Assembly recommended that a general meeting between representatives of the secretariats of the United Nations system and OIC and its specialized institutions be organized in Geneva in May 1994.
٢ - وفي القرار ذاته، أوصت الجمعية العامة بتنظيم اجتماع عام بين ممثلي أمانات منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي ومؤسساتها المتخصصة في أيار/مايو ١٩٩٤، في جنيف.

10. Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 48/24, a general meeting on cooperation between the representatives of the secretariats of the United Nations system and OIC and its specialized institutions was held in Geneva from 9 to 11 May 1994.
١٠ - عملا بقرار الجمعية العامة ٤٨/٢٤، عقد في جنيف في الفترة من ٩ إلى ١١ أيار/مايو ١٩٩٤ اجتماع عام بشأن التعاون بين ممثلي أمانات منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي ومؤسساتها المتخصصة.

(c) Cooperation between the United Nations system and OIC and its subsidiaries should be conceived in the context of realizing synergy and added value of joint efforts in member States.
)ج( ينبغي تصور التعاون بين منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي والهيئات التابعة لها في سياق تحقيق التفاعل والقيمة المضافة للجهود المشتركة في الدول اﻷعضاء.

24. The World Food Programme (WFP) participated in the general meeting on cooperation between representatives of the secretariats of the United Nations system and OIC and its specialized institutions (Geneva, 15-18 July 1998).
٢٤ - شارك برنامج اﻷغذية العالمي في الاجتماع العام بشأن التعاون المعقود بين ممثلي أمانتي منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي ومؤسساتها المتخصصة )جنيف، ١٥-١٨ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٨(.

We hope that further discussions will be carried out and follow-up action taken on the various items in the agenda, which is quite comprehensive, including on proposals for enhancing the mechanisms of cooperation between the United Nations system and the OIC and its specialized institutions.

20. It may be recalled that the United Nations and OIC established areas of priority for cooperation and designated organizations and agencies on both sides to act as focal points for follow-up action which would be required for the implementation of recommendations adopted by joint meetings of the two organizations.
٢٠ - من الجدير بالذكر أن منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة ومنظمة المؤتمر اﻹسلامي حددتا مجالات ذات أولوية للتعاون بينهما، وأنه قد تم تكليف مؤسسات ووكالات من الجانبين بالعمل كمراكز تنسيق لما يلزم اتخاذه من تدابير لمتابعة تنفيذ التوصيات التي تعتمدها الاجتماعات المشتركة بين المنظمتين.
