At the 3rd meeting on 12 September, the Chairman proposed that the SBI consider issues related to Articles 7 and 8 of the Kyoto Protocol at the second part of the thirteenth session after the SBSTA had arrived at conclusions on the guidelines on these articles, with the aim of submitting these guidelines for adoption by the COP at its sixth session.

The SBSTA decided to aim at completing the technical guidance on methodologies for adjustments under Article 5, paragraph 2, of the Kyoto Protocol at its eighteenth session, and forwarding it for consideration by the COP at its ninth session, in accordance with decision 21/CP.7;
