The preparatory segment decided to request that the issue of proposed adjustments and amendments of the Montreal Protocol by the European Community be placed on the agenda of the twenty-fifth meeting of the Open-ended Working Group.

In subsequent reporting, the Panel and its Committee noted that a survey had been commissioned by the European Community and, in 2004, the Parties were requested, through the Ozone Secretariat, to provide data and information on quarantine and pre-shipment uses and their alternatives.

The proposed adjustment was introduced by the European Community and discussed at the twenty-fourth meeting of the Open-ended Working Group in Geneva in July 2004 (see report of the meeting, document UNEP/Ozl.Pro.WG.1/24/29, paragraphs 198 - -206).

14. At its first session, the Committee concluded that the notification of final regulatory action by the European Community met the information requirements of Annex I and the criteria set out in Annex II to the Convention.
