As indicated in my previous letters, such provocative actions by Turkey are in contravention of the provisions of the Security Council resolutions on Cyprus, which state, inter alia, that such overflights increase political tension on the island and undermine efforts towards achieving a final settlement, disregarding at the same time international air rules and endangering civil aviation flights in the area.
وكما أشرت في رسائلي السابقة، فإن تلك اﻷعمال الاستفزازية من جانب تركيا تتعارض مع أحكام قرارات مجلس اﻷمن بشأن قبرص، التي تنص، في جملة أمور، على أن تلك التحليقات تزيد من حدة التوتر السياسي في الجزيرة وتقوض الجهود الرامية الى تحقيق تسوية نهائية، وهي تتجاهل في الوقت نفسه القواعد الجوية الدولية وتعرض رحلات الطيران المدني في المنطقة للخطر.
