وإذ تؤكد من جديد أن التعاون فيما بين بلدان الجنوب يشكل عنصرا مهما من عناصر التعاون الدولي من أجل التنمية فضلا عن أنه يشكل أساسا ضروريا للاعتماد على الذات على الصعيدين الوطني والجماعي ووسيلة لتعزيز إدماج البلدان النامية في الاقتصاد العالمي،

Stresses that South-South cooperation constitutes an important element of international cooperation for development and an essential basis for national and collective self-reliance, as well as a means of ensuring the effective integration and participation of developing countries in the world economy;
٦ - تؤكـد أن التعاون فيما بين بلدان الجنوب يشكل عنصرا هاما من عناصر التعاون الدولي من أجل التنمية وأساسا جوهريا للاعتماد على الذات على الصعيدين الوطني والجماعي، فضلا عن كونه وسيلة لﻹدماج الفعال للبلدان النامية في الاقتصاد العالمي ومشاركتها فيه؛

The High-level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation, held in Nairobi from 1 to 3 December 2009, emphasized that South-South cooperation is not a substitute for, but is complementary to North-South cooperation and that South-South cooperation is an important element of international cooperation for development.
وقد جاء انعقاد مؤتمر الأمم المتحدة الرفيع المستوى المعني بالتعاون بين بلدان الجنوب في نيروبي، كينيا في الفترة من 1 إلى 3 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 2009 ليؤكد على أن التعاون بين بلدان الجنوب ليس بديلاً عن، ولكنه مكمِّل، للتعاون بين الشمال والجنوب، وأن التعاون بين بلدان الجنوب يمثّل عنصراً مهماً من عناصر التعاون الدولي من أجل التنمية.
