It was hard to believe that the United Kingdom, ignoring the Territory's trusting approach, had made efforts to have the Cayman Islands removed from the United Nations list of Non-Self-Governing Territories.

103. The United Kingdom was ready to assume its international and national responsibilities. Its views on " de-listing " territories from the United Nations list of Non-Self-Governing Territories, were well known.
103 - وأكدت أن المملكة المتحدة على استعداد لتحمل مسؤولياتها الدولية والوطنية وأن آرائها بشأن رفع الأقاليم من قائمة الأمم المتحدة للأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي معروفة تماما.

It had also maintained that all 10 remaining British overseas Territories enjoyed modern noncolonial relationships with the United Kingdom and should therefore be removed from the United Nations list of Non-Self-Governing Territories.

وأشار البيان أيضا إلى الاقتراح الذي تقدم به بعض المعلقين بأن توافق المملكة المتحدة على السماح للأقاليم بالتمتع بخيارات المركز الثلاثـــــة المنصوص عليهـــــا في قرار الجمعية العامة 1541 (د-17) من أجل رفع الأقاليم من قائمة الأمم المتحدة للأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي، ألا وهي الاندماج أو الاستقلال أو الارتباط الحر.

(b) With regard to the current constitutional developments in American Samoa, took note of the information, provided to the seminar by the representative of the Governor of American Samoa, that while the Territory's position that it should be removed from the United Nations list of the Non-Self-Governing Territories continued to be held, it was time to be more concerned about how American Samoa could make progress politically and economically;
(ب) فيما يتعلق بالتطورات الدستورية الجارية في ساموا الأمريكية، أخذوا علما بالمعلومات التي قدمها إلى الحلقة الدراسية ممثل حاكم ساموا الأمريكية ومفادها أنه ولئن كان موقف الإقليم وهو أنه ينبغي حذفه من قائمة الأمم المتحدة للأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي ما زال صحيحا، فقد حان الوقت لزيادة الاهتمام بالكيفية التي يمكن بها لساموا الأمريكية إحراز تقدم سياسيا واقتصاديا؛

(h) With regard to Montserrat, took note of the statement of the Premier of Montserrat that the current relationship with the administering Power was one made by free choice and the Territory should be removed from the United Nations list of Non-Self-Governing Territories, as well as the statements by members of the Special Committee and the clarification by the Secretariat regarding United Nations procedures in this regard;
(ح) فيما يتعلق بمونتسيرات، أحاطوا علما ببيان رئيس الوزراء الذي أفاد بأن العلاقة الحالية مع الدولة القائمة بالإدارة علاقة مبنية على الاختيار الحر، وبأنه ينبغي حذف الإقليم من قائمة الأمم المتحدة للأقاليم غير المتمتعة بالحكم الذاتي ومن بيانات أعضاء اللجنة الخاصة، وتقديم الأمانة العامة لإيضاحات بشأن الإجراءات المتبعة في هذا الشأن في الأمم المتحدة؛
